The Way We Were!
Bishop Francis Allen School has come a long way. In 1981, Bishop Francis Allen began as sixteen portables huddled together in the south-west corner of McLaughlin Road North park as students and teachers eagerly waited for the school to be built. The building was finally completed in 1982. Pictured below is Ms. Grainger outside her grade one portable classroom. The original teachers who taught in the portables included Ms. Grainger, Ms. Giel, Mrs. Reid and Mr. Pagnotta. Also shown is Sister Marie Allen, sister of Bishop Francis Allen who celebrated the official opening of the school.
