Summer School Course Offerings
SUMMER SCHOOL GUIDELINES:
ELIGIBLE STUDENTS:
Students who are currently enrolled in a Secondary School program are eligible for admission to the Summer School Program and must apply directly through their guidance office. All applicants whom are NOT currently attending a day school may apply in person to the Adult and Continuing Education Office, 870 Queen St. W. Mississauga OR fax registration form and all documents to: 905 271 9060
FOREIGN STUDENTS:
Students on Visas must produce a letter of authorization from the Canada and Immigration Centre and pay a fee. Contact the Adult and Continuing Education office at 905 891 9263 for more details.
CODE OF CONDUCT:
Dufferin-Peel Code of Conduct policy applies to all Summer School Students.
DRESS CODE:
Students are expected to dress appropriately for learning. A policy statement will be issued on the first day of Summer School.
TEXTBOOKS:
A $90.00 deposit must be submitted on the FIRST DAY OF CLASS. This will be refunded upon the return of an undamaged book. Cheques are preferred and should be made payable to DPCDSB Adult and Coned.
IMPORTANT POLICY REMINDER - NO PEDS (PERSONAL ELECTRONIC DEVICES):
It is the policy of the DPCDSB that all PEDs be kept out of sight, turned off and not used within school premises or during school sanctioned activities. PEDs (Personal Electronic Devices are wireless and/or Hand-held Equipment). Information letter will be distributed to students on the first day of classes. Failure to comply may result in confiscation of PED and or disciplinary action as outlined in the Catholic Code of Conduct 2001.
ATTENDANCE:
Punctual and daily attendance is expected. Following a third absence in a new or full make-up 4 week course (including a suspension) a student will be withdrawn. Following the second absence a student is withdrawn in a 2 week make-up course. Absence on opening day will result in withdrawal of registration.
REPORTS:
An interim report card will be issued on July 18, 2008 for new and full make-up credit courses. Final report card will be issued on July 17, 2008 and August 1, 2008 for 2 week make-up credits and on August 1, 2008 for new and full make-up 4 week credits. Attendance is MANDATORY on the final day of each program.
