Our Community of Schools

The Dufferin-Peel Catholic District School Board is one of the largest and most diverse school districts in Ontario, with 1,050,926 residents, over 2,670 square kilometers. As of September 2007, the board  operated 144 Catholic schools (121 elementary and 23 secondary) throughout Mississauga, Brampton, Caledon and Orangeville, with a student enrolment of approximately 88,222 (54,913 elementary and 33,309 secondary students). In addition, over 40,000 students enrol in the board’s Adult and Continuing Education Programs each year.

The board continues to build new schools, as well as renovate and construct additions to existing facilities. In September 2007, the board opened the doors to two new elementary schools in Brampton and Mississauga, and began construction on one additional elementary school, scheduled to open in 2008.

At Dufferin-Peel, our goal is to provide quality Catholic education, which teaches students necessary life skills and prepares them for post-secondary education, the workplace, and for their role as responsible citizens. Our staff is among our greatest resources. The people we hire have a direct impact on the success of our students. With approximately 5,600 academic and 1,900 non-academic employees, Dufferin-Peel is one of the largest employers in the region.
