Plant

Welcome to the Plant Department

The Plant Department is responsible for the operation and maintenance of all Board owned and operated property, buildings, structures, and grounds, and it is our mission within the Plant Department to provide the Board and the community with clean, healthy, safe, secure, well-maintained, and attractive schools.  Our goal is to furnish an overall environment that promotes the educational process.  It is very important that parents, students, staff, and our community be able to take pride in each and every one of our school sites.

The department is responsible for the everyday cleaning of almost 10 million square feet of building space, maintaining over 1,000 acres of landscaping, and conducting maintenance repairs at our 144 schools and 2 support facilities.

Through preventive and routine operating and maintenance, renovation, and refurbishment, the Plant Department:

·        maximizes operational effectiveness by minimizing service disruptions and system failures,

·        extends the useful life of our facilities and equipment, and

·        maintains and improves the aesthetic qualities of our facilities.

We work continuously to develop, implement, and execute preventive maintenance programs and ensure cleaning and maintenance work is completed as scheduled.
