BTT20: Information and Communication Technology in Business ( grade 10 - Intro Level) This course introduces students to the use of information technology in a business environment. Students will learn how to use information technology in a work environment, perform electronic research, communicate electronically, and use common business software. They will also explore possible future occuptions information technology. Featured software is Microsoft Office- Windows, Word, Powerpoint, Excel and Internet Explorer

BTA30: Information and Communication Technology: The Digital Environment ( grade 11 Advanced level) This course offers students the opportunity to develop the information technology skills and knowledge required in a business. Students will learn about the information technolgy environment, use industry standard software, conduct electronic research, investigate electronic business, and explore occupations and post secondary programs that require information tehnolgy skills. This course covers advanced features of Word, Excel, Internet Explorer as well as an introduction to Access.
Part 1: Overview, Advanced Windows, Advanced Word, Advanced Powerpoint & a Presentation.
Part 2: Advanced Excel, Access, Electronic Research, Advanced Internet topics & Careers & Ethics.
We offer Computerized Accounting as a credit course ( 90 hours of instruction for each course) . This is offered as a full credit only
BAI3E: Accounting Essentials ( grade 11 - Intro level) This course introduces students to the use of accounting in business. Students will study various types of businesses and business ownership, and ways in wich accounting procedures are appplied in the different types of businesses with regard to recording transactions, preparing financial statements, and analyzing the process of cash management. They will learn about risks related to credit sales and about the collection of debts, and will use accounting software. Simply accounting is the featured software. Modules covered are the General Ledger, Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable.
BAN4E: Accounting for Small Business ( grade 12 - Advanced level) This course expands upon the fundamentals of accounting introduced in the previous course with emphasis on practical applications. Students will learn how accounting is practiced in the workplace by acquiring an understanding of payroll systems, bank reconciliation, inventory management, and projects management. Simply Accounting version 8 is the featured software. BAI3E is a required prerequisite for BAN4E). This course is also offered with a co op placement.
