One measurement of student success is in their preparation for the future as they grow towards adulthood. We want students to feel recognized, appreciated, and celebrated, to find meaning, honour, and dignity in the choices they make, and to find a match between their gifts and the opportunities that exist for them.
Student success in the 21st century include initiatives such as Community, Culture and Caring, Character Education, Safe, Caring, Healthy and Inclusive School Community. Student Engagement is embedded in varied and expanded programs, additional ways to earn credits, program pathways, tracking and monitoring students as well as attention to transitions from elementary to secondary and secondary to post secondary destinations.
Ontario's Ministry of Education has developed a range of programs to support students completion of secondary school. Information on "More ways to succeed in high school," at www.Ontario.ca/MoreStudentSuccess
