This Newcomer Mathematics Assessment Package contains assessment and support materials, designed for initial assessment and placement of English Language Learners new to the province of Ontario.
The Assessment Package reflects the changes in the revised Ontario Mathematics Curriculum (2007) and serves as a reliable and valid test to determine the learners’ proficiency in Mathematics and identify appropriate placement in Grades 9-12 Mathematics credit courses.
The Assessment Package was created by a team of recognized Mathematics experts and adapted for English Language Learners by a team of ESL specialists. It was piloted by assessment teachers at the Dufferin Peel Catholic District School Board's Reception and Assessment Centre.

The purchaser is granted permission to use and photocopy the Newcomer Mathematics Assessment Package for the initial assessment of English Language Learners within the purchaser’s organization. No part of the Package may otherwise be reproduced in any form by any photographic, electronic, mechanical or other means, or used in any information storage and retrieval system, without the written permission of the Dufferin-Peel Catholic District School Board.
