Remembrance Day Exhibit

at Christ the King School

Every year for the last 12 years, Brian Masson, a grade 5 teacher at Christ the King Catholic School has transformed our school into a living Remembrance Day tribute.  With a personal collection of over a thousand authentic World War I and World War II artifacts on display, students and the community are encouraged to see, touch and explore numerous items of the brave men and women who sacrificed their lives, so that we can enjoy the freedom we have today.  World War I and II era music plays in the background as students try on uniforms and hold disabled weapons and briefly enter into the lives of the soldiers who took part in these wars. One evening he also invites the community to view the display.

Mr. Masson also organized the Remembrance Day ceremony, which was celebrated in the school gym at 11am on November 11th.

The staff and community of Christ the King School would like to thank Mr. Masson for all his hard work in setting up the fabulous Remembrance Day Exhibit and helping us to understand and appreciate the sacrifices of so many.
