Traffic Safety
The Kiss n’ Ride program which has been utilized yearly at St. Dunstan will continue again this year. It has been established to provide the convenience and safety for our students and parents driving to and from school. Volunteers continue to assist us in the mornings with this program. We thank our parent volunteers who come out each week to assist with this program. A teacher monitors the program after school and on early dismissal days.
Please follow these procedures when driving into the school parking lot:
- The entry, exit and bus zone, on school property must never be blocked by vehicle.
- Please drop your children off at the front of the school when you come to a stop at the bright Kiss n’ Ride cone. Do not leave the vehicle yourself, and for safety reasons, have your children always exit the vehicle on the school side only.
- Do not drop your child[ren] off in the Bus Loading Zone or neat the south exit of the schoolyard.
- Dropping of children should never occur in the outer Drive-Thru Lane. Vehicles regularly use this lane to simply drive through.
- You may choose to park your vehicle in any available space Except for the parking spaces directly in front of the YMCA Day Care drop off area. These spaces are reserved for the Childcare parents. As well, we ask you to reserve the Handicapped parking space and the Office parking spaces for those entitled to use it. We do have parents and grandparents who require this space.
- If you park, please do not allow your child to walk across the parking lot unescorted.
- All grade 1 – 8 students being driven to school may be dropped off at the from of the school and then they can either walk along the sidewalk by the driveway to the large gate area and there enter the school yard or they may walk along the sidewalk to the pathway by the Kindergarten yard past the Primary wing of the school and there enter the school yard.
Please feel free to direct any questions or your concerns to Miss Krampert or to Mrs. Bacci.
