Online Database Programs

Ñ  The Library subscribes to a number of online database programs which include full-text articles from periodicals, professional journals, newspapers, encyclopedias, reference books, and almanacs, as well as images, maps, and video clips.

Discovering Collection
		Ø      Includes thousands of overview essays, critical analyses, biographies, timeline events, primary documents and multimedia elements; Ø      Organized in five core subject areas: literature, history, geography and cultures, science and health.
ESBCO Host
		Ø       Periodicals & Journals: full-text articles from Canadian and international magazines, journals, and newspapers; Ø       Reference & Books: searchable content from Columbia Encyclopedia, books on biographies, history, science and other school-related subjects; Ø       Literature: full-text articles from Canadian Literary Centre and MagillOnLiterature Plus. Ø       NoveList: a guide to fiction that can be searched by author, genre, subject, keywords, and plot.
E-Stat Canada
		The source for reliable and updated statistics of, as well as related articles and reference on the economy, land and resources, people, community profile, and the government of Canada.
Grolier Online
		A collection of online encyclopedias, including Encyclopedia Americana, Grolier Multimedia Encyclopedia, The New Book of Popular Science, The New Book of Knowledge, Lands and Peoples, and the Spanish reference, La Nueva Enciclopedia Cumbre.  Updated daily with world news and scientific development.
Knowledge Ontario
		Access to 16 database programs with full-text articles from periodicals, journals, encyclopedias, almanacs, reference books, covering the subjects of computer science, technology, health and wellness, literature, religion and philosophy, military, law, social science, and more.
L’encyclopédie Universalis
		A French database includes a multi-media encyclopedia, a dictionary and a world atlas.
Career Cruising
	A career guidance system with assessment tools,    occupation profiles, and comprehensive information on   post-secondary education.
