    DECA Mission Statement

     

    To enhance the co-curricular education of students with interests in marketing, business, management and entrepreneurship. DECA helps students develop skills and competencies for marketing and business careers, build self-confidence, experience leadership and practice community service. DECA is committed to the advocacy of marketing education and the growth of business and educational partnerships.

    What is DECA?

    By giving students hands-on experiences in the fields of marketing, business and entrepreneurship, DECA enhances the classroom experience by providing conferences and competitions that mold high school students into character-driven leaders. Find out how you can be part of making a difference.

     

    Who belongs to this dynamic organization?

    Any student enrolled in marketing and business education where there is a DECA chapter, can join DECA. In classrooms throughout the country, students form their own chapters can elect their own executive officers. Marketing and business education teachers and coordinators serve as individual chapter advisors. DECA chapters are self-supportive, with members paying chapter, provincial and international membership dues.

    DECA Ontario currently has over 5, 000 members in 102 chapters across
    Ontario, the provincial association in the
    Canada.

    DECA is the only student organization operating in 50 states, the U.S. Territories,
    Korea, Germany, Mexico and Canada that attracts individuals to productive careers in marketing, management, and merchandising. It is an extra-curricular organization and serves as an integral part of the classroom instructional program.

     

    DECA membership means joining more than 160,000 young men and women who are serious about career and personal growth and about the future of our country.

    • As a DECA member you gain leadership skills by serving on committees and by holding offices at the local, provincial and international levels.
    • DECA members have the opportunity to participate in provincial, regional, and international leadership and career-related conferences.
    • DECA members meet people with common interests and goals.
    • DECA members participate as both leaders and followers in the many activities offered.
    • Participation in DECA's Competitive Events Program provides members with practical experience and recognition.
    • The Scholarship Awards Program helps to provide higher education for those students with ability and need.

    Mandatory Fees for DECA Club:
    Due:     September, 2008 (to Ms. MacKenzie)          
    $100.00        (Non-Refundable*)           
    *Fee includes DECA Ontario Provincial Registration, Regional Event Registration, and Bus Transportation.

    A large percentage of DECA members go on to college, When they get there, Delton Epsilon Chi offers competitive events in over 20 different professional fields for students to explore career options, develop strategic decision-making skills and demonstrates their knowledge by participating in real-life business scenarios.
