Online Textbook Access

Students enrolled in MPM 1D1, MFM 2P1, MPM 2D1, and MBF 3C1 can access their textbook online.  Ask your course teacher for further details and register at http://mytextbook.ca

 

Extra Help

Grade 9 & 10 Students having difficulties with their Mathematics homework can drop by for extra help on Monday-Thursdays from 2:45-3:30pm in room 121 (Starts Sept. 20th).

 

Ask A Teacher Chat Rooms

The Independent Learning Centre (ILC) is funded by the Ministry of Education and has been providing distance education to Ontarians since 1926. This September, the ILC is partnering with 14 Ontario school boards to offer a free online math tutoring chat room service to students in grades 7 to 10.  On-line tutors certified to teach Mathematics in Ontario are available from 5:30pm to 9:30pm Sunday to Thursdays.

Students can access on-line Mathematics  homework assistance via the website http://homeworkhelp.ilc.org  You will need to obtain an access code from your teacher to sign up. 

EQAO

All students currently enrolled in Grade 9 Academic or Applied Mathematics must write the EQAO Mathematics assessment in June.  EQAO preparation materials will be available through your daughter's Mathematics teacher in late April.

 

CHAMP Math Contests

The Credit Humber Association of Mathematics Promotion sponsors a Mathematics contest for all students in Grades 9, 10 and 11.  Although the cost to each student is free, the Mathematics Department asks students to bring in a canned good on the day of the contest. 

 

The contest date: Tuesday Dec. 8th, 2009.  Be sure to sign up with your math teacher!

Waterloo Math Contests

The Canadian Mathematics Competition is a nation-wide contest sponsored by the University of Waterloo.  It is open to all High School students who wish to challenge themselves in the area of mathematical problem solving.  Students who score in the top 25% in Canada receive certificates of merit and the top student in each school receives a medal.

 

Grade 9 through 11 students can write the Pascal, Cayley, and Fermat contests on Thursday February 25th 2010.  The cost of the contest is $3.  Interested students should register with their teach in late December early January.

 

Grade 12 students can write the Euclid contest which is written on Wednesday April 7th 2010.  The cost of the contest is $12.
