only for teacher-directed purposes.

Students are not to use or have visible cell phones or any other
electronic transmission devices within the school building. If students are observed doing so, they will be asked to turn over the device to a member of staff and parents will be contacted to collect the item from the school.
STUDENT PED (Personal Electronic Device) POLICY
The Dufferin-Peel Catholic District School Board has implemented a new policy in regards to student use of PEDs on school premises or during school-sanctioned activities. PEDs include any handheld or portable electronic device that can communicate with other similar type devices (i.e. cell phones, smart-phones, text-massagers, etc.). PEDs also include any electronic device that can record, transmit or playback data, audio and/or visual images.
This new policy has been developed in the spirit of maintaining and enhancing a positive Catholic learning environment for all individuals in the school communities. The aim of this new policy is to increase school safety, protect personal privacy, and maintain the academic and educational focus of the school by regulating student use of PEDs during the instructional day.
In brief, the policy states: "PEDs are not to be seen, heard, used nor turned on in school premises or during school-sanctioned activities." In addition to this new policy, the Board strongly recommends that students leave all PEDs at home or in their locker to prevent loss, theft and/or damage.
The specific application of this policy, and the range of disciplinary consequences related to wilful non-compliance by a student, will be made known to all students and their parent/guardian(s) at the start of the school year. Consequences for a student who choose NOT follow the stipulations of this policy may include confiscation of PED (by an administrator), parental contact, and suspension when warranted.
STUDENT ACCIDENTS AND/OR ILLNESS
Any accidents occurring in the school should be immediately reported to the office. There is first aid equipment available in the school, as well as staff with First Aid Training. Parents will be contacted.
If a student becomes ill during the school day, she is to go to her teacher first and then proceed directly to the Attendance Office. Arrangements will be made for the student to go home. Please ensure that emergency contact numbers are made available to the school attendance office.
LOCKERS
At the beginning of the school year each student will be issued a locker. This locker is the property of the school and is given in trust. It is expected that the locker will not be defaced or damaged in any way. Combinations must be registered with the homeroom teacher. Only Dudley combination locks are approved for school use.
Lockers should be locked at all times and the combination kept secret. At the end of the school year lockers are to be cleared out. Any items left after the last in-class day of school will be disposed of. Valuables should not be brought to school. Jackets and non-uniform sweaters should be left in the lockers before classes begin.
STUDENTS ARE ADVISED NOT TO LEAVE VALUABLE OR MONEY IN THEIR CLOTHING IN THE GYM CHANGING ROOM.
The school will not accept responsibility for lost or stolen books or personal property.
NO STUDENT MAY EXCHANGE HER LOCKER OR LOCK WITH ANOTHER STUDENT WITHOUT FIRST SECURING THE CONSENT OF A VICE-PRINCIPAL.
Students can access lockers on 4 occasions during the day: at the
beginning and end of the day and prior to and after lunch ONLY.
Students should have with them any books and materials that
They require for their classes.
