Retreats
Retreats will follow our pastoral theme by building character and virtues.
Grade 9 – St. Anne’s Parish. Facilitated by Chaplain, 6 senior student leaders, and 2 grade 9 homeroom teachers. Students will attend 9:15 am parish mass and will build a positive community while practicing virtues such as acceptance, cooperation, trust, and love. Senior student volunteers will practice leadership, empathy and responsibility.
Grade 10 and PIP – Mount Alverno Centre. Facilitated by Jewels for Jesus’ Relationship Compass retreat program. Religion students will learn about and be encouraged to practice virtues such as chastity, self-control, and love.
Grade 11 – Ecology Retreat Centre. Facilitated by Daisy Radigan and Kathleen O’Connor (Co-creating Cosmically). Religion and I.B. students will explore various symbols of the spiritual journey through the creation story, ecology and world religions, including mandalas and labyrinths.
Grade 12 – YMCA Cedar Glen. Facilitated by Chaplain. Religion and I.B. students will focus on developing good character through exploring the question, “Who do you want to be?” Students will practice virtue through either a high ropes or low ropes challenge.
Co-op retreat – St. Anne’s Parish. Facilitated by Chaplain for half-day retreat.
Salesian retreat – selected senior students will participate in or lead 3-day leadership retreats. Notre Dame will participate at least once a year.
